Our why

Our why

>> Every year, millions of t-shirts are thrown away in Sweden – even though many are in good condition and have a lot left to give.

>> At the same time, Swedes buy around three million new t-shirts – just within the merch and promotional clothing category.*

What if we could capture fully functional, solid-color t-shirts – about to be discarded – and give them new life through print-on-demand?

This idea became the driving force behind the founding of Imperfect Industries.

The ambition is to demonstrate that we can utilize more garments from the growing textile mountains, and thus contribute to a more circular clothing industry. The company's founder and CEO, Hanna Saurén, says;

— When we talk about circularity in the textile industry, it is often about shredding or dissolving garments in order to manufacture new materials from the fibers. But all such degradation and manufacturing processes require large amounts of resources, such as water, energy and chemicals. At Imperfect, we want to show that there are incredible amounts of fine garments that are on their way to becoming waste, but that actually work just as well as new. We also want to contribute to a deeper understanding of the enormous climate savings that choosing used over newly produced products means. We are convinced that what is good for society must also be a good business idea.

Vår filosofi

We have become accustomed to clothes being perfect. We have learned that the slightest deviation makes a garment less valuable, and that it is easy to complain, return and exchange.

Imperfect wants to challenge the idea of what fits into the concept of "perfect". Is there room to expand it? Can we learn to like small, barely noticeable differences? Can we open up our wardrobes to more unique garments and see that differences and traces of use enrich and give character?

We believe that both products and people deserve new chances, and we believe that an important part is calibrating our expectations, and generally showing more consideration and care.
